Product Description

The Atomic Backland 98 W 20/21 is a touring ski from Atomic’s Backland line, aimed at riders who split their time between climbing uphill and descending off-piste. It’s built to tackle varied snow conditions on backcountry tours.

At 1200 grams per ski (164 cm), the Backland 98 W keeps weight low for more efficient ascents without compromising downhill stability. Its 98 mm waist strikes a balance between float in softer snow and responsive edge-to-edge turns on firmer surfaces. The flat binding mount provides flexibility to pair with a range of tech bindings for the setup that suits your touring style.

The sidecut dimensions of 127.5/98/118 mm (tip/waist/tail) determine how the ski turns: a wider tip and tail aid in flotation, while the narrower waist accelerates edge changes. A 14.6 meter turning radius indicates the arc of a medium-sized turn, offering a compromise between nimble short turns and stable longer arcs in diverse terrain.
