The Burton Family Tree Alekesam is a freeride snowboard built for riders who spend their days chasing fresh lines on piste and in powder. With its directional shape and a camber-forward profile, it’s aimed squarely at experienced snowboarders looking for a board that can handle high speeds and varied terrain.
Its Freeride Directional shape shifts more weight toward the tail, giving you better float in deeper snow and more stability when you’re carving hard. The directional camber profile means you get a traditional camber underfoot for snap and edge hold, while the slightly rockered nose helps you stay up on softer snow. A flex rating of 7–8 makes the board stiff enough to stay steady at speed and responsive to your inputs when you need to change direction quickly.
Directional camber combines the energy and grip of camber—where the board arches slightly off the ground between the bindings—with a gentle uplift in the nose, so you get both pop and float. The flex rating system runs from soft (1) to stiff (10), and a 7–8 rating indicates a firm feel that gives more feedback underfoot, which can be helpful for carving and maintaining control in challenging conditions.
