The Camp Slipper XL from Exped is a slip-on hut shoe designed for kicking back around camp, in mountain huts or at home after a day on the trail. It offers a bit of warmth and underfoot protection without the heft of a full hiking boot.
Built for men up to a 31 cm foot length, these slippers use a recycled 50 Denier polyester outer and liner that traps heat while remaining lightweight, and a 20 Denier recycled TPU sole that provides grip on slick cabin floors and light cushioning on uneven surfaces. The fabrics carry Oeko-Tex certification and RDS approval, so you know they’ve been tested for harmful substances and meet responsible sourcing standards.
Denier (D) measures the thickness of individual fibers—the 50 D polyester strikes a balance between durability and low bulk, while the 20 D TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) sole stays flexible yet resists abrasion. TPU is essentially a rubber-like plastic that grips well and holds up to repeated wear without losing shape.
