The Fjällräven Abisko Lite 1 is a solo tunnel tent designed for lightweight trekking and minimal-weight backpacking. It offers a straightforward layout that keeps the focus on reliable shelter rather than extra bells and whistles, making it a solid choice for hikers who need a dependable, compact tent on the trail.

Weighing in at about 1.65 kg (and around 1.38 kg in trail weight), the Abisko Lite 1 stays light enough to carry over long distances without feeling flimsy. The rainfly is made from a sturdy triple-ripstop nylon treated with silicone on both sides, so it stands up well to wind and rain while remaining remarkably light. Inside, a fine ripstop polyamide with a durable water-repellent finish helps cut down on condensation, and the PU-coated floor keeps moisture at bay. At 240 cm long and 160 cm wide, there’s room to stretch out or store gear beside you, and it all packs down neatly into a 34 × 14 cm bag for easy stowage.

“Denier” (abbreviated D) is a measure of the thickness of the yarn used in the tent fabrics: lower numbers mean lighter, finer threads, while higher numbers mean tougher, more abrasion-resistant cloth. Here, the combination of 15D and 40D fabrics balances durability and weight. The silicone treatments on the fly boost tear strength and help shed water without adding bulk, while the PU coating on the floor provides a reliable barrier against damp ground.

Compact and stable tunnel tent for solo trekkers who like to travel with a smaller backpack. One main pole and strong corner poles in aluminium give generous head height and space over the feet. A comfortable, reliable and lightweight trekking companion when you want to travel alone. The flysheet is made from Fjällräven’s new high-performance polyamide and an innovative construction that combines two different fabric weights giving excellent strength despite low weight. The vestibule is spacious for a one-man tent and there is plenty of room for gear. The flysheet and inner tent are connected, making handling easy and protecting the inner tent from rain while pitching. It is also possible to use double tent poles (an accessory) when using the tent in exposed conditions. Ventilation is excellent with three openings, positioned both high and low, which can be completely closed if needed. For really good airflow in warm conditions, the flysheet door can be rolled up to half way and fastened in place with an auto-lock that won’t let the zipper “creep” in strong winds. All openings, including the inner tent door, are covered in a fine mesh that keeps out even the smallest, barely visible insects. Clothesline plus mesh pockets in the inner tent make it easy to dry gear and keep organised. Just like all of Fjällräven’s tents, Abisko Lite 1 is made entirely without PVC plastic and toxic flame retardants, and its impregnation is produced without PFAS.
