Product Description

The HEAD Porsche Radar 5K Photo MIPS is a men’s ski helmet with an integrated visor designed to protect both your head and eyes on the slopes. By combining the shell and lens into one unit, it saves you the hassle of juggling a separate goggle and helmet setup.

Its In-Mold construction bonds a lightweight foam interior directly to the outer shell, delivering solid impact resistance without adding unnecessary weight. The visor covers lens categories S1 to S3, so it adapts from overcast to bright conditions as you move between shady runs and open bowls. Built-in ventilation channels help keep air flowing to reduce fogging and maintain comfort during long days on the mountain. On top of that, MIPS technology adds a low-friction layer inside the helmet to help manage rotational forces in the event of an angled fall.

MIPS, or Multi-directional Impact Protection System, is a slip-plane design that allows the helmet’s liner to rotate slightly relative to the shell. This movement can help reduce rotational energy transferred to the brain during certain impacts. Lens categories indicate the percentage of light transmission: S1 lenses are suited for low-light or cloudy conditions, while S3 lenses block more light for bright, sunny days.
