Product Description

The Mammut 8.7 Serenity Dry is a slim climbing rope designed for climbers who need a lightweight line without sacrificing reliable performance. With its relatively small diameter and water-resistant treatment, it’s well suited to sport routes, multi-pitch climbs or alpine objectives where every gram and every bit of handling control matters.

At 8.7 mm thickness, this rope cuts down on bulk and weight, making it easier to carry, clip and reel in on longer routes. The dry treatment repels moisture and dirt, so the rope stays lighter and keeps its supple feel even in wet or snowy conditions. That means you’ll spend less time fighting a waterlogged rope and more time focusing on your climbing.

“Dry treatment” refers to a protective coating applied to the rope’s sheath and core fibers. This coating limits how much water the rope can absorb, helping it retain its strength and handling characteristics when exposed to rain, snow or ice. And while a thinner rope like this one offers nimble handling and reduced pack weight, it also requires a bit more attention to avoid abrasion and extend its lifespan compared with thicker lines.
