The GRIGRI Plus from Petzl is a belay device made for sport and indoor climbing. It’s designed to help manage rope handling when you’re leading or top-roping at the gym or crag.

Built with an aluminum body, stainless-steel wear plates and a nylon handle, the GRIGRI Plus balances durability and weight. It works with ropes from 8.5 to 11 mm in diameter, so you can use it with most single ropes on the market. Weighing around 200 g, it clips onto your harness without adding much bulk.

The rope diameter specification indicates which rope thicknesses fit safely in the device.
