Product Description

The Salomon MTN Explore 95 is a lightweight touring ski built for backcountry adventures, offering a blend of uphill efficiency and reliable downhill control. It’s aimed at riders who spend long days skinning into the mountains and want a ski that handles varied snow conditions without weighing them down.

With a 95 mm waist and a sidecut of 130/95/116 mm (tip/waist/tail) at 177 cm, this ski strikes a balance between flotation in softer snow and nimble edge-to-edge transitions. Its 18 m turn radius gives enough responsiveness for tighter lines while still feeling stable at speed. The flat binding design means you can pair the ski with your preferred touring binding system.

The 18 m radius refers to the natural arc the ski makes when edged—smaller radii turn more quickly, larger radii feel more stable on open slopes. The 130/95/116 mm profile (often called “taillering”) shapes how the ski floats and grips: a wider tip and tail help in deep snow, while the narrower waist aids in carving. At 1 520 g per ski (at 177 cm), it keeps uphill efforts lighter without sacrificing downhill support.
