Wechsel Venture 1

The Venture 1 by Wechsel is a one-person midweight dome tent designed for solo backpackers and hikers. It brings together lightweight construction with reliable shelter, fitting into the light-duty end of midweight tents without overcomplicating setup or pack size.

Constructed with a 68D ripstop polyester fly and a breathable 70D polyester inner, this tent balances durability and ventilation to help keep condensation in check. The 7001-T6 aluminium poles give enough stiffness to withstand gusts while remaining easy to carry, and a 75D PU-coated floor adds abrasion resistance against rough ground. With interior dimensions of 160 cm wide, 215 cm deep and 95 cm high, there’s room to stretch out and stash your gear, and a compact packed size of 50 × 15 cm means it tucks neatly into a daypack. The kit includes aluminium stakes, guy lines and a stuff sac for straightforward transport and setup.

In fabric terms, “68D” or “70D” refers to the denier rating—essentially the thickness of each polyester thread, with higher numbers indicating stronger yarns. Ripstop means a fine grid of reinforcement threads woven into the fabric to slow or stop tears. “PU-coated” stands for polyurethane coating, a layer applied to shed moisture and strengthen the material. The 7001-T6 aluminium alloy used for the poles is a common choice in outdoor gear for its high strength-to-weight ratio, so you get sturdy support without excess heft.
