Product Description

The Salomon XDR 78 ST is an all-mountain ski designed to handle a variety of piste conditions with a balanced blend of responsiveness and control. It comes pre-mounted with Mercury 11 bindings, offering a reliable connection from boot to ski for day-long confidence on the slopes.

With a 78 mm waist and a 125/78/107 mm sidecut (at 160 cm), this ski feels agile underfoot, making it easier to initiate turns while still providing enough platform under your feet for stability. The 13 m turn radius (at 160 cm) encourages smooth, medium-arc carving on groomed runs, and at 2075 g per ski (170 cm), the weight balances nimbleness with enough heft to dampen chatter at speed.

The turn radius refers to the size of the carved arc when the ski is tilted on edge—a smaller number means tighter, quicker turns, while a larger radius favors longer, more drawn-out curves. Sidecut describes the hourglass shape of the ski (wider tip and tail, narrower waist), which directly affects how easily the ski bends into these arcs and how securely it grips the snow.
